Brian O’Byrne Going International
For his performance as the Russian writer Alexander Herzen last season in “The Coast of Utopia,” at New York’s Lincoln Center Theatre, Brian F. O’Byrne (pictured here) had to learn more lines than for Hamlet as well as anchor an eight-and-a-half-hour marathon performance. So the actor has understandably been taking a breather from live theatre. He spent his spring and summer in Providence, Rhode Island, playing a violence-loving Irish cousin to the two political brothers who make up the heart of the Showtime television series “Brotherhood,” which will begin airing its second season in late September.
And this fall, O’Byrne will go to Berlin to shoot “The International,” a feature about global arms dealing directed by Tom Tykwer (“Run, Lola, Run”) and starring Clive Owen.
As this photo reveals, O’Byrne is a serious New York Mets fan, so presumably he’ll be following any playoff action from Berlin via the Internet.
