Will Kelli Be Nellie?
Actress Kelli O’Hara is shown at left in the arms of Greg Naughton, but could the next man in her arms be whatever actor plays the role of Emile de Becque, in the upcoming Lincoln Center Theater production of “South Pacific”? O’Hara and Naughton were just married in Vermont, and their nuptials were the subject of a story in the August 26 New York Times. Meanwhile, I’m going to continue to lay odds that O’Hara, who has shone both in “The Light in the Piazza” at Lincoln Center Theatre and in a concert version of “My Fair Lady” with the New York Philharmonic, will be awarded the “South Pacific” plum part of Nellie Forbush when that Rodgers and Hammerstein show starts performances in its first Broadway revival ever, in late February.
