Elizabeth Taylor Back on Stage
No, Hollywood’s last big star from the studio era is not coming to Broadway in “Hello, Dolly.” But in December Elizabeth Taylor will perform in Hollywood, starring in person in A.R. Gurney’s epistolary two-person play “Love Letters.”
Her costar will be Darth Vader himself, James Earl Jones. This will be a one-night-only event to benefit AIDS charities. “Love Letters” will be Taylor’s first acting job since the 2001 TV movie “These Old Broads,” and her first time onstage since “Private Lives” in 1983.
